The Young Editors Program from Trill Voices Inc. is designed just for you.

Since 2015, Trill has supported over 1,000 students and early-career creatives worldwide, with 9 out of 10 alumni landing their first role in media. Now, we’re looking for the next generation of editors to help guide the voices of tomorrow.

What You’ll Gain

As an editor at Trill, you won’t be stuck doing busywork — you’ll be doing real editorial work that builds the foundation for a future career in publishing, journalism, or media leadership.

You’ll gain:

• Hands-on editorial training in pitching, story development, and digital publishing
• Experience mentoring and managing a team of up to 8 writers
• Practice giving thoughtful feedback on prose, headlines, structure, and style
• Skills in formatting, sourcing, SEO, and WordPress publishing workflows
• A chance to contribute to newsletter content and original editorial series ideas
• Ongoing support through workshops, drop-in centres, and team leader mentorship

What You’ll Do

Editors at Trill play a vital role in ensuring every story we publish is meaningful, relevant, and as strong as it can be.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Helping writers develop pitches and trending story ideas each week
• Reviewing submissions and ensuring they meet Trill’s content guidelines
• Supporting writers through redrafts with clear, constructive feedback
• Checking formatting, sourcing, images, and SEO elements before publication
• Communicating quickly and clearly through Slack and Trello
• Encouraging writers to produce their best work through mentorship and care

Time Commitment: ~4–6 hours per week
